Education Objectives of the Programme :
 
Learning Outcomes of the Programme :
Upon successful completion of this programme, students will be able to :
OP-1: To have knowledge of mathematics, probability and statistics methods, science and engineering within the scope of marine vehicles in the field of Marine Engineering Operations; to gain the ability to use this knowledge theoretically and practically in complex engineering problems.
OP-2: To gain the ability to identify, define, formulate and solve complex engineering problems in the field of Marine Engineering Operations; for this purpose, to gain the ability to choose and apply appropriate analysis and modeling methods.
OP-3: To gain the ability to design Marine Engineering Operation systems, processes, devices and parts that can meet the necessary needs, under realistic constraints and conditions; for this purpose, to gain the ability to apply modern design methods.
OP-4: To be aware of the effects of Marine Engineering Operations applications on maritime safety, maritime safety, marine environment and health in universal and social dimensions, as well as comprehensive knowledge, skills and legal consequences of engineering solutions about the problems of the age reflected in the field of engineering.
OP-5: To gain the ability to design, conduct experiments, collect data, analyze and interpret results for the investigation of complex Marine Engineering Operations problems or discipline-specific research topics.
OP-6: To have the necessary comprehensive knowledge and skills to be able to take charge in Marine Engineering operation/management levels.
OP-7: To have comprehensive knowledge and skills required to take part in electrical, electronic and control applications at the operational/management levels of Marine Engineering Operations.
OP-8: To have the necessary comprehensive knowledge and skills to be able to take part in the maintenance-attitude works at the operating/management levels of Marine Engineering Operations.
OP-9: To raise awareness of the necessity of lifelong learning; accessing information and having knowledge about current issues.
OP-10: To gain effective verbal and written communication skills; to gain proficient knowledge of English and foreign languages; to gain the ability to write effective reports and to understand written reports, to prepare design and production reports, to make effective presentations, to give and receive clear and understandable instructions; To gain the ability to communicate effectively in maritime English, both verbally and in writing.
OP-11: To act in accordance with ethical principles, awareness of professional and ethical responsibilities, to gain knowledge about the standards used in engineering applications.
OP-12: To gain the ability to follow the developments in science and technology and to constantly renew oneself.
OP-13: To have the necessary comprehensive knowledge and skills to take part in the control of ship operation and personnel work at the operational and management levels.
OP-14: To have information about maritime customs and traditions.
OP-15: To have knowledge about International and National maritime laws.
