Objectives of the Programme :
It aims to train qualified health technicians who can collect, organize, archive and put into service medical documents created in health institutions in accordance with scientific rules, and who can carry out modern secretarial services in clinics, polyclinics and offices.
 
Learning Outcomes of the Programme :
Upon successful completion of this programme, students will be able to :
OP-1 : Have basic secretarial knowledge and skills and know medical secretarial principles. Explains the responsibility, legal status, confidentiality, security and importance of privacy of records.
OP-2 : Understands basic knowledge in the fields of human anatomy and physiology and uses medical terminology specific to the field correctly.
OP-3 : Analyzes the problems encountered in applications using the knowledge and skills acquired in the field, and takes individual responsibility when necessary by participating independently and/or within the team in the studies planned for the solution.
OP-4 : He/she acquires individual awareness by improving himself/herself professionally, socially and culturally.
OP-5 : Gains basic and advanced knowledge and skills about computer office programs, tools and information technologies required for applications in the field.
OP-6 : She/he informs relevant people and institutions by using her/his basic knowledge and skills on issues related to her field, and conveys her thoughts and solution suggestions to problems in written and oral form.
OP-7 : Professionally evaluates and applies the knowledge gained from basic level theoretical and applied courses supported by textbooks containing current information in the field, application tools and other resources.
OP-8 : He/She can use Turkish and a foreign language effectively for academic and professional purposes, follow information about developments in the field at national and international levels, and communicate effectively with colleagues.
OP-9 : Acts in accordance with quality management and processes and participates in these processes.
OP-10 : She/He knows the institutions and organizations within the health system on an organizational basis, and acts in accordance with the laws, regulations, legislation and ethical values regarding her/his duties, rights and responsibilities as an individual working in her field.
OP-11 : With his knowledge and skills in using the Hospital Information Management System, he carries out registration, provisioning, request receiving, discharge and billing procedures according to the patient's social security; performs coding of surgeries and diseases and prepares relevant statistics.
OP-12 : It carries out medical documentation and archive operations, medical records, medical reporting and professional correspondence effectively and quickly in accordance with the rules of the Turkish language.
OP-13 : Communicates effectively with colleagues, patients, relatives, physicians and other healthcare professionals.
OP-14 : Gains awareness of the necessity of lifelong learning, monitoring developments in science and technology and constantly renewing oneself.
OP-15 : Has sufficient awareness about environmental protection, occupational health and safety, public health, healthy living, first aid and medical/health sciences libraries.
