The aim of the course:
By the end of the course, students will have - understood what is specific to globalisation as a process. - been able to comment on issues related to globalisation and international development such as finance, financial crisis, global trade and austerity. - captured the linkages between politics and economics as well as the national and the global around the topics considering globalisation and development.

Upon successful completion of the course, the students will be able to :

Contents of the Course
This course provides students with a detailed account of globalisation. The course complements the third year course International Political Economy and specialises in a critical examination of globalisation and international development. It examines capitalist development of the post-Cold War setting of global political economy and looks at current debates on globalisation therein.
