In addition, to have knowledge about marine areas and how these areas are determined by coastal states, how to resolve disputed issues, the powers of coastal and flag states in these marine areas, international straits in the world and their impact on ship traffic transit regimes, foreign policy, energy corridors and ship navigation. |

Development of legislation in international maritime law, 1958 Geneva Maritime Law Conventions, 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea, Inland waters, territorial waters, determination of exclusive economic zones and open seas and the powers of coastal and flag states in these marine areas. Disputes and disputes related to the Turkish and other international straits and the maritime areas subject to the International Court of Justice such as Bozkurt-Lotus case and the current ship traffic transit regime in these straits.
