The aim of the course:
The aim of this course is to provide an understanding of the institution of diplomacy, introduce fundamentals of diplomatic correspondence and negotiation, improve written and verbal communication skills, and help students to transfer their language skills and academic knowledge into practice.

Contents of the Course
This course combines core academic concepts with applied classroom component to help students understand the challenges of diplomacy in an ever-changing and globalizing world. The structure of the course incorporates theoretical sessions with in-class activities. The first part of the course covers the diplomatic theory including the origins of diplomacy, the general categorisation of diplomacy, the frameworks of norms and laws, and personal/professional ethics. The second aspect of the course employs in-class tasks to develop students' skills to communicate both orally and written in diplomatic language, and make them familiar with the implementation of diplomacy.
