Objectives of the Programme :
The primary aim of our department is to offer graduate degrees to Metallurgical and Materials engineers who have the ability to conduct research, determine and develop the properties of existing engineering materials and to carry out research and development activities on new engineering materials, who are equipped with the knowledge of new technologies in the production, processing and protection of the engineering materials which will contribute to new product and process design, who will be able to work in the production, application and R&D aspects of pertinent national and international industries and research institutions, who are creative and have a sound understanding of continuous development, who possess social, ethical and economic responsibilities.
 
Outcomes of the Programme :
Upon successful completion of this programme, students will be able to :
OP-1 : Have an ability to apply knowledge of mathematics, science, and Metallurgy and Materials Engineering.
OP-2 : Have an ability to design and conduct experiments, as well as to analyze and interpret data.
OP-3 : Design a system, process, and part in line with necessary requirements.
OP-4 : Have an ability to function on multi-disciplinary teams.
OP-5 : Have an ability to identify, formulate, and solve Metallurgy and Materials Engineering problems.
OP-6 : Have an understanding of professional and ethical responsibility.
OP-7 : Have an ability to communicate effectively.
OP-8 : Understand the impact of Metallurgy and Materials Engineering solutions in a global, economic, environmental, and societal context.
OP-9 : Have a recognition of the need for, and an ability to engage in life-long learning.
OP-10 : Have a knowledge of contemporary issues.
OP-11 : Acquire the ability of using the techniques and modern engineering tools in the field of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering.
OP-12 : Have an ability to design a system, component, or process to meet desired needs within realistic constraints such as economic, environmental, social, political, ethical, health and safety, manufacturability, and sustainability.
