Objectives of the Programme :
The Oral Diagnosis and Radiology Postgraduate Program is designed to prepare a dentist for a career in clinical Oral Diagnosis and Radiology, research and teaching. The overall goal is to educate dentists to become competent clinical Oral Diagnosis and Radiology physicians who will serve the public and the profession at a high level of excellence.
 
Outcomes of the Programme :
Upon successful completion of this programme, students will be able to :
OP-1 : Embryology, histology and physiology of the pulpal/periradicular complex.
OP-2 : The microbiologic aspects of pulpal and periradicular diseases.
OP-3 : Infectious and immunologic processes in endodontic diseases.
OP-4 : Mechanisms of inflammation and wound healing with emphasis on the pulpal and periradicular complex.
OP-5 : Pharmacotherapeutic agents used in the management of systemic diseases that may influence the management of patients requiring endodontic treatment.
OP-6 : Principles of biostatistics, research design, research methodology, scientific writing, and critical evaluation of the literature.
OP-7 : Biomaterial science as it relates to endodontics.
OP-8 : Perform tests and clinical examinations and interpret the significance of the data in the differential diagnosis of clinical conditions arising from injury to the pathosis of pulp and periradicular tissues.
OP-9 : Interpret conventional radiographs and digital images.
OP-10 : Manage appropriate emergency treatment in infections of endodontic origin.
OP-11 : Provide nonsurgical and surgical endodontic treatment.
OP-12 : Retreat endodontically-treated teeth using both non-surgical and surgical techniques.
OP-13 : Provide intraradicular restorations and cores in endodontically treated teeth.
OP-14 : Provide vital pulp therapy.
OP-15 : Perform root-end closure procedures.
OP-16 : Evaluate, diagnose and manage traumatic injuries to teeth and their supporting structures.
OP-17 : Provide endodontic treatment for the medically compromised patient.
OP-18 : Develop a differential diagnosis of orofacial pain.
OP-19 : Diagnose and treat endo-periodontal diseases.
OP-20 : Perform non-surgical and surgical endodontic procedures using microscopy.
OP-21 : Perform intracoronal bleaching procedures.
OP-22 : Know the history of endodontics and ethics.
OP-23 : Perform geriatric endodontic procedures.
