Objectives of the Programme :
Educational aim of the department is to graduate Mining Engineer who are capable of graduate education and academic career, can be employed as a qualified mining engineer in public or local and foreign private sector organizations or related fields, can participate in R & D projects conducted in mining or mineral processing fields, can prepare mining and mineral processing projects or participate in multi-disciplinary projects, can be responsible for a permanent supervisor, occupational health and safety specialist and other (environmental officer, auditor, blasting excavations, marketing, etc.) fields.
 
Learning Outcomes of the Programme :
Upon successful completion of this programme, students will be able to :
OP-1 : have sufficient knowledge on subjects specific to Mathematics, Science and Mining Engineering; gain the ability to use the theoretical and applied knowledge of these fields in complex engineering problems related to mining.
OP-2 : gain the ability to identify, define, formulate and solve complex mining-related engineering problems; be able to select and apply appropriate analysis and modeling methods for this purpose.
OP-3 : be able to design a complex system, process, device or product to meet specific requirements under realistic constraints and conditions; be able to choose modern design methods for this purpose.
OP-4 : be able to develop, select and use modern techniques and tools necessary for the analysis and solution of complex problems encountered in Mining Engineering applications; be able to use information technologies effectively.
OP-5 : be able to design and conduct experiments, collect data, analyze and interpret results for the investigation of complex engineering problems or discipline-specific research issues related to mining.
OP-6 : be able to work effectively in disciplinary and multi-disciplinary teams; gain the ability to work individually.
OP-7 : be able to communicate effectively in Turkish verbal and written; acquire knowledge of at least one foreign language; will be able to write effective reports and understand written reports, prepare design and production reports, make effective presentations, give and receive clear and understandable instructions.
OP-8 : be aware of the necessity of lifelong learning; be able to access information, follow developments in science and technology, and gain the ability to constantly renew themselves.
OP-9 : be able to act in accordance with ethical principles and have a sense of professional and ethical responsibility; learn about the standards used in Mining Engineering applications.
OP-10 : have information about business life applications such as project management, risk management and change management; have a spirit of awareness about entrepreneurship, innovation; will be able to learn about sustainable development.
OP-11 : be able to learn about the effects of Mining Engineering applications on health, environment and safety in universal and social dimensions and the problems of the age reflected in the field of engineering; have information about the legal consequences of engineering solutions.
