Objectives of the Programme :
An education contributing to conserving and enhancing natural and built environments, understanding and culminating better planned communities.
Providing students opportunities to study a range of relevant subjects preparing them to divers fields of planning practice, research.
Providing an educational program that engenders liveability and sustainability, improve skills in analysing and understanding urban problems and in producing creative solutions. Enlightening students on changing contexts of planning related fields. And providing education that internalizes ethic and moral values
 
Learning Outcomes of the Programme :
Upon successful completion of this programme, students will be able to :
OP-1 : Describe the meaning, objectives and rational of urban and regional planning and how it contributes to the natural environment protection, risk management, development and enhansing built environment
OP-2 : Obtaine the knowledge of basic concepts of planning- history, theory, method, law- and make use of them in special plannings
OP-3 : Understand multi-disciplinary field of planning and design profession as a whole
OP-4 : Be focus to sustainable development in planning and design
OP-5 : Gain ability of solving problems of settlements and related assets in the process as well as understanding sectoral (economic, social, physical, technological, natural environment, etc..) inter relationships
OP-6 : Recognize and comprehend urban culture and make of in planning and design.
OP-7 : Acquire knowledge and skills related to approaches for the creation of liveable environment for everyone
OP-8 : Know the methods and techniques to analyse the functioning of the city's/region?s economy, and understand the relationship between economy, social and spatial structure of city/region
OP-9 : Gain ability of thinking the planning from macro to micro scale, also planning and design in integration
OP-10 : Gain knowlegde and skills for the evaluation and protection of cultural and natural heritage
OP-11 : Recognise and understand administrative and legal structure of planning, types of planning and policy instruments, roles of public and private actors in planning, management of change in built environmental, human activities and systems within this environment
OP-12 : Gain skills of accessing to healthy data and information for urban and regional planning and urban design, conduct researches, field works and analysis for these purposes
OP-13 : Obtain knowlegde and skills to recgonise urban technical infrastructure system and to integrate them with land use
OP-14 : Understand and analyse planning and design issues from different social contexts, and be able to hold such issues in participatory manner
OP-15 : Developed ability to convert creatively abstract-concrete concepts into two-three dimensional composition, and Interpret them in the context of urban space
OP-16 : Develop ability to express himself/herself by written, oral and graphical tools professionally, communicate with urban stakeholders
OP-17 : Design and draw land use plans and projects manually and with computer
OP-18 : Able to use alternative and innovative research methods
OP-19 : Able to use information technologies in various stages of planning and design
OP-20 : Develop self study, teamworks and negotitation skills, ability of organising teamwork
OP-21 : Learn and interprete from planning and design practicals, make inferences for new cases
