Objectives of the Programme : |

To train a doctor of science in the field of YÖK 100/2000 PhD Scholarship on Metabolism and Chronic Diseases (Obesity, Diabetes, and Atherosclerosis), who has in theoretical and practical knowledge at an advanced level; who able to follow current issues; who is able to carry out academic studies independently and/or the joint studies with different disciplines; who can use the information technologies, field-specific technical equipment, devices and instruments; who take care of laboratory safety; who has capable of relevant training and who has ethical values. |

Upon successful completion of this programme, students will be able to : |
OP-1 : | Develops and deepens the current and advanced knowledge in his science field at the level of expertise with original thinking and/ or research; achieves original definitions that will bring innovation to the field. | |
OP-2 : | Follows the developments and evidence-based practices in the field of health sciences and reaches out to the printed and electronic information sources. | |
OP-3 : | Recognizes his science field-related disciplines and can do the interdisciplinary studies; achieves original results by using knowledge that requires the expertise in analyzing, synthesizing and evaluating new and complex ideas. | |
OP-4 : | Has an advanced level of knowledge about the information technologies, laboratory safety, experimental methods, technical equipment, devices and instruments that are specific to his science field. | |
OP-5 : | Identifies a problem; plans a scientific research; carries out the planned work independently or as a team; develops creative solutions to the problems encountered during study. | |
OP-6 : | Selects, applies, evaluates, interprets and reports the correct statistical methods in his studies; evaluates a scientific article from a statistical point of view. | |
OP-7 : | Knows the ethical principles, the topics in the research and publication ethics, and the importance of ethics committees for the individual and society; and considers social, scientific and ethical values during the stages of collecting, recording, interpreting, announcing data. | |
OP-8 : | Evaluates the new information in his science filed by a systematic approach; develops a new idea, method, design and/or application that brings innovation improve a new idea, method, design and/or implementation develops; or applies a known idea, method, design and/or application to a different field ents; researches; comprehends; designs; adapts and applies an original topic. | |
OP-9 : | Has high-level skills that can use research methods in studies related to his science field. | |
OP-10 : | Presents the current information and developments in a topic in his science filed to the groups in the same field at a seminar. | |
OP-11 : | Writes the report of a study that he has done or is a researcher; publishes it in a peer-reviewed journal with national or international impact and presents it at scientific meetings. | |
OP-12 : | Reads, understands, comments and criticizes articles in the field of health sciences. | |
OP-13 : | Knows English at a level that can read, understand and write about current developments in the field of health sciences. | |
OP-14 : | Do scientific clinical and/or descriptive research/presentation/publication on his science field and on the priority issues related to community health. | |
