| Objectives of the Programme : |

| The basic aim of the Social Studies Teacher Education is to provide basic information, skill, behaviour and habits which are necessary for teacher of Social Studies. |

| Learning Outcomes of the Programme : |
|
| Upon successful completion of this programme, students will be able to : |
| OP-1 : | have the skills of establishing healthy communication with students and colleagues and can use Turkish fluently and correctly according to its rules. |
|
| OP-2 : | have the sufficient level of knowledge about Social Studies Education in order to meet the needs of student. |
|
| OP-3 : | have the pedagogical knowledge about teaching profession and know and apply contemporary teaching methods and techniques and measurement-assessment methods. |
|
| OP-4 : | have the sufficient level of foreign language knowledge in order to monitor foreign resources about his/her field. |
|
| OP-5 : | have the skill of using information and communication technology effectively for Social Studies teaching. |
|
| OP-6 : | know the developmental properties and learning patterns of students who are at the second stage of elementary education and will plan, develop material and make executions according to these properties. |
|
| OP-7 : | have enough knowledge about structure and the historical development of Turkish Education System. |
|
| OP-8 : | be a teacher who is faithful to Atatürk's principles and revolutions, trusting in democracy, conscious about Turkish national, moral, ethical and cultural values and being sensitive to these aspects in his/her profession. |

| OP-9 : | have skills of thinking scientific and analytic and will use knowledge generating, knowledge acquiring, scientific research methods and techniques and will use it in classroom activities. |
|
| OP-10 : | know the relation between social studies-society-environment seek for society and environmental problems and use it in professional and daily life. |
|
| OP-11 : | can execute interdisciplinary studies, have enough level of knowledge of Turkish, biology, medicine, mathematics, media, art and fields like these to be able to relate his/her course with other different disciplines. |
