Objectives of the Programme :
The department aims at providing its students with a broad knowledge in all fields of mining, developing students' ability to determine and solve mining engineering problems, educating students to have sufficient knowledge and experience on methods selection for mining activities, and improving their computing skills.
 
Outcomes of the Programme :
Upon successful completion of this programme, students will be able to :
OP-1 : reaches, evaluates, interprets and applies the information in detail by doing scientific research in the field of Mining Engineering
OP-2 : gains comprehensive information about current techniques and methods, together with their limitations, applied in Mining Engineering.
OP-3 : complements and applies knowledge with scientific methods using limited or incomplete data; integrates knowledge from different disciplines.
OP-4 : be aware of the new and developing applications of their profession and examine and learn them when necessary.
OP-5 : designs Mining Engineering problems, develops methods to solve them and applies innovative methods in solutions.
OP-6 : develops new and/or original ideas and methods; develops innovative solutions in system, part or process designs.
OP-7 : designs and implements analytical, modeling and experimental-based research; analyze and interpret the complex situations encountered in this process.
OP-8 : leads multidisciplinary teams, develops solution approaches and takes responsibility in complex situations.
OP-9 : communicates verbally and in writing by using a foreign language at least at the B2 General Level of the European Language Portfolio.
OP-10 : conveys the processes and results of studies systematically and clearly in written or verbal form in national and international environments in the field or outside the field.
OP-11 : describe the social and environmental dimensions of Mining Engineering applications.
OP-12 : observes social, scientific and ethical values in the stages of data collection, interpretation, announcement and in all professional activities.
