Objectives of the Programme :
The Doctor of Philosophy program in Physics and Applied Physics is designed to develop advanced competence in Physics. The Physics course of study prepares the student to carry out original and independent research in physics, while the Applied Physics Options provide training for professional work in several areas of applied physics and allied engineering disciplines.
 
Outcomes of the Programme :
Upon successful completion of this programme, students will be able to :
OP-1 : Have a high level of competence in knowledge and skills in the branches and usage area of physics.
OP-2 : Based on master's qualifications, an ability to develop and deepen current and advanced knowledge in own field with original thought and/or research at the level of expertise and reach unique definitions that will bring innovation to the field.
OP-3 : Learn the required theoretical, experimental and programming techniques by own self.
OP-4 : Independently carries out an original work that brings innovation to the field, develops a new idea, method, design and / or application, or applies a known idea, method, design and / or application to a different field.
OP-5 : Leads in environments that require the solution of innovative and interdisciplinary problems.
OP-6 : Develops new thoughts and methods related to the field by using creative and critical thinking, problem solving and decision making processes.
OP-7 : Establishes functional interaction by using strategic decision-making processes in solving the problems encountered in the field.
OP-8 : Have the ability to use the knowledge and experience gained in the field of physics as a teaching service in the academic environment.
OP-9 : Have the ability to define, model and solve problems related to physics in technology.
OP-10 : To be able to apply mathematics, science and engineering knowledge to physics problems, to develop solutions for them and to convey the results in written and verbal form to individuals and institutions in an accurate and effective way.
OP-11 : Communicates at a high level in a foreign language, verbal and written, and has the ability to argue effectively.
