Objectives of the Programme :
The aim of our department is to produce highly skilled geophysicists who are capable of taking part in large scale national and international projects and able to lead these projects succesfully. They will be experts loyal to the ethics of their profession and who have high scientific and technical standards.
 
Outcomes of the Programme :
Upon successful completion of this programme, students will be able to :
OP-1 : Reaches, evaluates, interprets and applies the necessary basic science, mathematics and other engineering science information to be used in the field of Geophysical Engineering by scientific research.
OP-2 : Has comprehensive knowledge about current techniques and methods applied in engineering and their limitations.
OP-3 : Designs and implements analytical, modeling and observational based research; solves and interprets the complex situations encountered in this process, in case of having full or less-limited data.
OP-4 : Defines or constructs complex engineering problems clearly and develops methods for original solutions with an innovative approach.
OP-5 : Develops new and/or original ideas and methods in the field; develop innovative solutions and projects in system, algorithm or observational process designs and apply them in interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary fields.
OP-6 : To have the ability to communicate orally and in writing using a foreign language effectively. He/she conveys the processes and results of his/her studies in a systematic and clear way, in written or oral form, in a disciplined or multidisciplinary academic environment, using his/her foreign language.
OP-7 : It considers the social, environmental, scientific and ethical dimensions in the stages of data collection, interpretation and announcement in experimental and observational applications in the field of engineering.
