| Objectives of the Programme : |

| The aim of the program is to meet the need for qualified human in the field for Turkey and the world by training sociologists who has a manner of synthesizing theories of sociology and the data revealed by other scientific disciplines, can analyze the world's and Turkey's rapidly changing general sociological structure and have ability to determine the basic parameters of the relationship between people and communities by an interdisciplinary perspective, and grasped how to do theoretical and practice social researches. |

| Learning Outcomes of the Programme : |

| Upon successful completion of this programme, students will be able to : |
| OP-1 : | understand the development of sociology as a discipline and its relationship with other disciplines and will be competent at the professional sociological terminology, theories, methods and debates. |

| OP-2 : | comprehend the basic system of values and norms of social structure and perceive the structure and function of the fundamental institutions of modern and pre-modern societies, and analyze the similarities and differences. |
|
| OP-3 : | acquire the knowledge of scientific and systematic thinking and sociological methods and techniques, and learn how to conduct a field research. |
|
| OP-4 : | perceive the development of philosophy and psychology,and their relationship with sociology and the professional philosophical and psychological terminology, theories, methods and debates. |

| OP-5 : | perform statistical analysis, and use computer software and information technologies that required for a sociological research . |

| OP-6 : | dealt with social, cultural, economic and political issues by an analytical and critical approach that takes into account the structure and change. |

| OP-7 : | improve the ability to achieve scientific information, documents, and data and develop the ability to access local and global sociological knowledge. |

| OP-8 : | evaluate the contribution of the new social theories and comment social events and facts in relation to sociological theories and produce theoretical criticism. |

| OP-9 : | evaluate social issues by using the proper methods ant techniques, conduct researches that contribute to literature of sociology, provides data and knowledge. |

| OP-10 : | perceive to take advantage of humanities data and acquire a multi-disciplinary perspective and can conduct a team research. |

| OP-11 : | use the systematic ability of access to knowledge, adopt the principle of lifelong learning and constantly renew themselves throughout their career. |

| OP-13 : | analyze basic societal elements as symbol, ritual and practice, assist the relevant institutions, and understand the characteristics of current facts, such as globalization, analyze them and generate solutions to the problems. |
