Objectives of the Programme :
The prosthodontic postgraduate program is designed to prepare a dentist for a career in clinical prosthodontics research and teaching. The overall goal is to educate dentists to become competent clinical prosthodontist who will serve the public and the profession at a high level of excellence. The general aim of the program is to diagnose and plan the treatment of partial or total edentulous cases by using up-to-date information and technologies within the framework of general dentistry theoretical and practical knowledge. Apart from conventional prosthetic treatment training, this program also includes training in subjects such as the reconstruction and rehabilitation of maxillofacial defects, the improvement of temporomandibular joint disorders and the application of advanced techniques such as implantology. To carry out advanced aesthetic dental treatments using various full ceramic systems in line with the developments in the field of aesthetic dentistry; performing prosthetic treatments with a preventive approach. In addition, learning scientific study and research methods is the aim of the program.
 
Outcomes of the Programme :
Upon successful completion of this programme, students will be able to :
OP-1 : Recalls and evaluates the knowledge of prosthetic dental treatment in a depth that can be discussed at an academic level. (Knowledge).
OP-2 : Recalls and evaluates information that can be discussed at an academic level in the field of aesthetic dentistry. (Knowledge).
OP-3 : Knows and evaluates the general structure of the substance and the mechanical and physical properties of materials used in dentistry (Knowledge).
OP-4 : Gains knowledge about diagnosis, treatment and planning principles according to cases in total, partial and fixed dentures. (Knowledge).
OP-5 : Have knowledge about porcelain systems, full ceramics and their applications (Knowledge).
OP-6 : Uses the theoretical/practical skills to prepare and independently carry out a research project. (Skill)
OP-7 : Understands the causes of failure in prosthetic treatments and corrects these failures. (Skill)
OP-8 : Knows current implant applications and can make different planning in different cases. (Skill).
OP-9 : Evaluates and makes clinical applications of various types of prosthetic treatment. (Skill).
OP-10 : Have the ability to scan and interpret the literature correctly. (Skill)
OP-11 : With the knowledge of the physiology of the chewing system and the neuromuscular physiology of the chewing system, he will have the ability to solve problems in different cases (Skill).
OP-12 : Follows, absorbs, discusses and transfers national / international academic publications in the field. (Competence)
OP-13 : Reaches the competence to diagnose and treat patients in the field of prosthetic dentistry. (Competence)
OP-14 : Publishes the original studies in the field of scientific study in national/international refereed journals and presents them at scientific meetings. (Competence).
OP-15 : Have a sense of professional and ethical responsibility. (Competence).
