| The Civil Engineering Department of Karadeniz Technical University intends to graduate individuals who can communicate effectively, fulfill learning outputs adequately, have strong national ties, can produce national and international projects, have the capacity for scientific researches, can take a role of leadership in the regional development and behave ethically for all of these. |

| Learning Outcomes of the Programme : |

| Upon successful completion of this programme, students will be able to : |
| OP-1 : | To acquire sufficient knowledge of mathematics, science and related engineering disciplines; ability to use theoretical and applied knowledge in these fields in complex engineering problems. |
|
| OP-2 : | Ability to identify, define, formulate and solve complex engineering problems; ability to select and apply appropriate analysis and modeling methods for this purpose. |
|
| OP-3 : | Ability to design a complex system, process, device or product to meet specific requirements under realistic constraints and conditions; ability to apply modern design methods for this purpose. |
|
| OP-4 : | Ability to develop, select and use modern techniques and tools necessary for the analysis and solution of complex problems encountered in engineering practice and also ability to use information technologies effectively. |

| OP-5 : | Ability to design and conduct experiments, collect data, analyze and interpret results for the study of complex engineering problems or discipline-specific research topics. |

| OP-6 : | Ability to work effectively in disciplinary and multi-disciplinary teams; individual working skills. |

| OP-7 : | Ability to communicate effectively in orally and in writing; knowledge of at least one foreign language; ability to write and understand effective reports, to prepare design and production reports, to make effective presentations, to give and receive clear and understandable instructions. |

| OP-8 : | Awareness of the necessity of lifelong learning; the ability to access information, to follow developments in science and technology, and to constantly renew oneself. |

| OP-9 : | Behaving in accordance with ethical principles, awareness of professional and ethical responsibility; knowledge of standards used in engineering practice. |
