FOUNDATION & HISTORY  
The subdivision was established in 2016. Masters program has been carried out since the program's establishment in 2016 in public relations and advertising.
QUALIFICATION AWARDED  
The students who have successfully completed a minimum of 21 local credits (equivalant to 60 ECTS credits) from thought courses delivered within the graduate programme of the department and in related fields, achieved a CGPA of at least 2.00 out of 4.00 and prepared and successfully defended a thesis are given Master's Degree in public relations and advertising.

MODE of STUDY

ADMISSION & REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS  
1 - Bachelor's Degree in acceptable fields, 2 - Sufficient score from the National Academic Staff & Graduate Education Exam (ALES), 3 - English proficiency (500 from TOEFL / 6 from IELTS)
OBJECTIVE of THE PROGRAMME  
Master program helps to students for acquiring information to evaluate, interpret and attain with researching academic subjects.
RECOGNATION of PRIOR LEARNING  
The "Directive on Recognition of Prior Learning", Senate Decision No. 340 issued on July 28, 2023, has been accepted and entered into force regarding the students registered in all programs of Karadeniz Technical University to determine the principles to be followed for the recognition, crediting, and adaptation of the achievements acquired by the students at non-university institutions.

In this Directive,

- recognition of knowledge, skills, and competencies acquired with special interest through an exemption exam to be substituted as program courses,
- recognition of workplace and internship experiences through portfolio evaluation to be substituted as program courses,
- and the crediting of certificates received from accredited institutions regarding students' special interests are covered.

Announcements of courses included in the scope of recognition of prior learning, applications, and evaluation will be made on the dates specified in the academic calendar. Recognition of prior learning will offer numerous benefits to our students and employers. For our students, increasing professional development and mobility in the labour market, preventing repetition of education and waste of time, providing early graduation, reducing the cost of learning, encouraging learning, and increasing the student's motivation and self-confidence can be counted among the benefits of recognition of prior learning. From the employers' perspectives, it will contribute to satisfying skill or competence deficiencies in the workplace, reducing the time employees spend outside the workplace for training purposes, and thus using resources more efficiently.

KTU Graduate Education Regulations
EXAMINATION, ASSESSMENT and GRADING REGULATIONS  
1 quiz, 1 homework and 1 exam at the end of the term. Thirty percent of the quiz, twenty percent of the homework and fifty percent of the exam determines the students' success.
Students are subjected to the mid-term exam, term study (project, seminar, short quiz, assignment or another mid-term exam) and end of term exam for every course. All of the exams are evaluated on a grade of 100 and the students who get at least 70 grade are regarded as successful. Student who gets any grades of (AA), (BA), (BB), (CB) and (CC) in any courses given in the program will be evaluated as successful and students may take the repeat exam for maximum two courses at the end of each semester.

DEPARTMENTAL FACILITIES : 
It has a staff composed of 3 professors, 1 associated professor, 2 assitant professors, 1 research assistant doctor, 1 lecturer and 3 research assistant. Its fully equipped computer laboratories and technology classes, department prepares its students for the competitive labor market.
