The students who have successfully completed a minimum of 21 local credits (equivalant to 60 ECTS credits) from thought courses delivered within the graduate programme of the department and in related fields, achieved a CGPA of at least 2.00 out of 4.00, and prepared and successfully defended a thesis are given Master's Degree in LABOUR ECONOMICS AND INDUSTRIAL RELATIONS

- KTU Senate’s Decision dated 15.06.2021 and numbered 320/12 (The Senate Principles for Graduate Programs Application and Admission Conditions)

- KTU Graduate School of Social Sciences Graduate Programs Application Guidelines

- Students admitted to the program from outside the field are required to attend the Scientific Preparation Program and be successful in the courses determined based on their graduation status.

OBJECTIVE of THE PROGRAMME

Main objective of the department is to provide qualified economists for positions both in public and private sectors. Because of this, research and education in the department are divided into fields including Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, International Economics, Monetary Theory and Policy, Economic Policy, Economic Theory, Theories of Growth,Financial Markets, Finance and Econometrics.In order to succeed in this department, students should have the ability of analytical thinking.
RECOGNATION of PRIOR LEARNING

Lateral Transfer:
The admission of students through lateral transfer is subject to the following provisions of Article 32 of KTU Regulations on Graduate Education:
(1) Successful students who have completed at least one semester in another graduate program within the university (KTU) or in another higher education institution can be admitted to graduate programs through lateral transfer.
(2) For the applicant to be able to transfer, s/he is required to meet the minimum application requirements for the program subject to application. Transfers are only possible between equivalent programs.
(3) For students whose applications for lateral transfer from outside the university are accepted, the ECTS equivalence and course compatibility are decided by the Graduate School Board after receiving the opinion of the Office of Program Head. In master?s programs, lateral transfer is not accepted at the thesis stage.
(4) For a student from outside the university to transfer, s/he is required to have a score of 60 in any of YÖKDİL, e-YDS, or YDS foreign language examinations or an equivalent score in the examinations accepted by ÖSYM (Student Selection and Placement Centre).
Course Substitution:
Course substitutions are subject to the following provision A-4 of the Senate?s Principles for the Implementation of Graduate Studies at KTU dated 03.11.2017 and numbered 284:
A - Opening and Conducting Courses
(4) A student whose registration in a graduate program at KTU is canceled due to failure or other reasons cannot apply to the same program again. However, s/he can apply to another graduate program at KTU. In such a case, the student can substitute at most two previous courses (6 credits) which s/he successfully completed on condition that the relevant program approves it. A student who enrolls in KTU after his/her registration in another university is canceled can make a request to have course substitution for at most two of the courses successfully completed in the relevant program.

KTU Graduate Education Regulations
EXAMINATION, ASSESSMENT and GRADING REGULATIONS

Students are subjected to a midterm exam, term study (project, seminar, quiz, assignment, or a second midterm exam), and final exam for each course. The share of the midterm exam in the final grade of the course is 30%, that of the term study is 20%, and that of the final exam is 50%. All exams are graded out of 100 points. For a student to be considered successful in a course, s/he must get at least a letter grade of ?CC? as the end-of-semester grade in that course.
GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS

To graduate from the master’s degree program, it is necessary to successfully complete - Minimum eight courses including compulsory courses, one of which must be in English, corresponding to at least 24 credits (120 ECTS credits) in total as well as the “Seminar” course and the “Scientific Research and Publication Ethics” course (non-credit) by the end of the fourth semester and - The thesis study by the end of the sixth semester.

The graduates of the labour economics and industrial department has many opportunities of employment in a varitey of state and private companies. Graduates of this department work as 'economists' on making the best use of manpower, on raw material resources, and also on finding the best way of marketing products. the private and the public sector establishments such asTurkish Treasury, Undersecretariat of the Prime Ministry Foreign Trade, State Planning Organization, State Institute of Statistics, Ministry of Finance, Capital Market Board of Turkey, Turkish Competition Authority and Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey the main areas of work for the graduates of this department.

The department is using the a part of the first building bloc of the faculty of administrative and economical sciences for academic personnels. A part of the second building bloc of the faculty is equipped with technological classrooms and computer laboratories are allocated to the public administration. All of the academic personnels have laptobs, computers connected to the Internet.
