The aim of the course:
The course aims to provide the students with a general knowledge on basic principles of solidification of metals and alloys, to teach them to understand the required condition for rapid solidification and rapid solidification methods, to know them to estimate the solidification rate, microstructure, secondary dendrite arms spacing, to know them heat removal in rapid solidification, to learn them production of rapidliy solidified powders and ribbons, to know them advantages and applications of materials produced by rapid solidification method.
