The aim of the course:
To teach basic knowledge of manufacturing and tribological properties of friction materials.

Contents of the Course
Definition of tribology, its historical development and industrial importance, Surface properties and measurement methods, Friction, friction laws, friction mechanisms, Friction in metals, ceramics, and polymers, Wear, wear mechanisms, Friction material (lining pad) and its components, Friction- wear measurement methods for friction materials and devices, Determination of the physical, mechanical and thermal properties of the brake pad.
