Liquids and solids. Homogeneous and heterogeneous nucleations. Solidification and growth of pure metals and different alloys. Distribution coefficient, constitutional undercooling, macrostructure development. Centerline feeding resistance, heat transfer in solidification. Gating and risering of castings. Fluidity and hot tears. Gases in metals. New (hybride) casting methods. Zone refining and crystal growth. |
