The aim of the course:
Learning of type of wastes, base/precious metal content and potential environmental impact of wastes and available treatment routes for wastes through physical separation and extractive metallurgical methods.

Contents of the Course
Introduction. Type of wastes. Generation of wastes. Waste management. Storage of wastes in landfills and its environmental impact. Base/precious metal content of wastes and their economic potential. Methods used for recovery of metals from industrial and mineral wastes. Physical separation methods. Extractive metallurgical methods. Industrial practices.
