The aim of the course:
The objective of the course is to provide an overview of common underground and surface mine backfill practices and technologies, to teach the students backfill design and backfill quality control.

Upon successful completion of the course, the students will be able to :

Contents of the Course
Introduction to fill technology, the importance of fill for ground support, general information about fill methods, surface and underground fill applications, binder types, hydraulic, paste and rock fill, fill design, case studies in mines, advantages and disadvantages of fill.
