The aim of the course:
To privide students with the knowledge of dewatering and drying unit processes used after the benefication and aqueous processing of ores.

Contents of the Course
Introduction to dewatering and drying processes. Principles of settling. Stoke's and Newton's Laws. Dewatering aids. Dewatering methods and equipments. Screens, cyclones, spiral classificators, centrifuges, thickeners and filters. Counter-current decantation. Laboratory tests for dewatering equipments. Determination of separation efficiency. Methods for the selection and sizing of thickeners. Drying methods and equipments.
