Introduction to dewatering and drying processes. Principles of settling. Stoke's and Newton's Laws. Dewatering aids. Dewatering methods and equipments. Screens, cyclones, spiral classificators, centrifuges, thickeners and filters. Counter-current decantation. Laboratory tests for dewatering equipments. Determination of separation efficiency. Methods for the selection and sizing of thickeners. Drying methods and equipments. |
