The aim of the course:
The objective of the course is to provide students with coal usage and importance of coal, basic unit processes and technologies in coal processing, understanding of electricity and electricity based systems in mines,
 
Learning OutcomesCTPOTOA
Upon successful completion of the course, the students will be able to :
LO - 1 : have knowledge about electricity, electricity equipments and systems, and fsolve problems faced about electricity in mine.11,
LO - 2 : have knowledge about coal, analysis of coal for, ash, valatile matter, moisture and calorific value11,
LO - 3 : decide and select the suitable coal cleaning and desulphurization method1,2,31,
LO - 4 : have konowledge about the coal using sectors and determine the coal type, properties and amounts to be used in these sectors11,
CTPO : Contribution to programme outcomes, TOA :Type of assessment (1: written exam, 2: Oral exam, 3: Homework assignment, 4: Laboratory exercise/exam, 5: Seminar / presentation, 6: Term paper), LO : Learning Outcome
