The aim of the course:
The objective of the course is to provide students with an understanding of basic unit processes in mineral processing and the role of mineral processing in the mining and extractive metallurgy

Upon successful completion of the course, the students will be able to :

Contents of the Course
İntroduction to Mineral Processing: The Role of Mineral Processing in Mining and Metallurgy, Ore Minerology and Its Importance for Mineral Processing, Liberation, Concentration and Recovery, Recovery-Grade Relationship, Particle Size Analysis: Sieve Analysis, Elutriation, Sedimentation, Infrasizing, Measurement with Microscope. Communition and Screening: Comminution Theories, Crushing and Crushing Equipments, Industrial Screening and Screaning Equipments, Crushing and Screening Circuits, Grinding, Rod Mill, Ball Mill and Autogenous Mill,Classification: Free Settling, Hindered Settling, Classification Equipments, Evaluation of Hydrocyclone Performance, Grinding and Classification Circuits. Solid-Liquid Separation: Thickening, Filtration, Sampling: Sampling Methods, Important Parameters in Sampling.
