This course also introduces prominent dramatic figures of this period and the analysis of their works, putting them into social, artistic, philosophical context. It is also part of the contention of the course to develop the ability of the students to make an assessment of dramatic texts and enhance their talents in the field of fine arts. |

In this course, the history of the theatre as an art form is introduced with visual materials and documents. The main sources of the Medieval English Dramatic Literature are discussed making references to various dramatic texts written in that particular period. Various presentations regarding the Medieval Drama and the English Renaissance drama are conducted by the students, and these presentations are supervised and supplemented as part of classroom activities. The students are provided with background information and knowledge necessary for them to make an assessment of Medieval English Drama and Renaissance Drama. |
