The aim of the course:
To give information about spectroscopic methods using in organic chemistry, and to give an idea about structure identification of organic compounds by spectroscopic methods.

Upon successful completion of the course, the students will be able to :
LO - 1 : Recognize the spectroscopic methods used in organic chemistry
LO - 2 : Identify organic compounds by using spectroscopic methods.
LO - 3 : Identify the unknown organic compounds
CTPO : Contribution to programme outcomes, TOA :Type of assessment (1: written exam, 2: Oral exam, 3: Homework assignment, 4: Laboratory exercise/exam, 5: Seminar / presentation, 6: Term paper), LO : Learning Outcome

 
Contents of the Course
Mass spectroscopy, Infrared (IR) spectroscopy, 1H-NMR (Proton Nüclear Magnetic Resonance) spectroscopy, 13C-NMR (Carbon-13 Nuclear Magnetic Resonance) spectroscopy, Two-dimensional NMR techniques, UV-Visible Spectroscopy, Solving the problems using all techniques. .
