The aim of the course:
In the SBP 2004 Planning Studio III course, which is designed as a continuation of the SBP 2003 Planning Studio II course, an Implementation Zoning Plan and Urban Design Project will be produced individually in line with the decisions of the Master Zoning Plan produced as a group for the selected Şiran settlement in the fall semester. The aim of the course is to comprehend the methods and approaches related to the design of urban areas in the development area or in the built-up texture in line with the high-scale plan decisions. Spatial analyses of physical, demographic and social structure, planning principles and design criteria for the organization of urban function areas such as housing, commerce and recreation are the main topics to be emphasized. The basic approaches to be followed in the creation of a livable urban environment will be discussed and plan implementation tools and techniques will be discussed. At the end of the process, students are expected to express their planning and design decisions by using graphic expression, three-dimensional modeling (model, computer modeling or sectional studies at appropriate scales, etc.), drawing and writing techniques. Technical drawings of the works within the scope of the course can be made by Netcad or by hand. Netcad drawing is recommended and will be evaluated equally in scoring
