The aim of the course:
It enables students to question the spatial and dynamic structure of the city. Contemporary urban structures and systems at regional, national and global scales will be analyzed theoretically and empirically.

Contents of the Course
The course, which deals with the interaction between people and place, offers a multi-faceted perspective on the formation, development and change of cities from past to present. The course covers the time-dependent global urbanization processes and causes of cities where a significant part of the world's population lives. Theories and models reflecting urban systems and urban development and change at national and international scales (Central Places Theory, Single Focus City Model, Sectoral Model, Multi-Focus City Model, etc.) are also examined within the scope of the course. Finally, the effects of globalization and global urban economies on cities are discussed.
