The aim of the course:
The course is to provide the students with general knowledge about the comprehension, protection and controlling of environmental problems.

Upon successful completion of the course, the students will be able to :
LO - 1 : explain social, economic dimensions of environmental problems5,71,
LO - 2 : relate land use planning and environmental values, resources, environmantal infrastructure, pollution controll mechanism, etc.5,71,
LO - 3 : estimation of social cost of environmental pollution5,71,
LO - 4 : apply environmental management principles and economic approaches to a project.5,71,

Contents of the Course
The concept of environment and ecology, basic concepts related to environment; using of natural resources, pollution and basic problems related to human interaction with environment (population, global warming, energy, urbanization, land, water and air pollution, transportation, etc.); avaluations of principles of Agenda 21; understandings about the roots of environmental problems; economy-environment relations; environmental policies; green politics, environmentalists and ecologists; planning based on environmental demands; environmental management; principles of environmental management; environmental management based on ISO-14000.
