By analyzing the foundations of, change and continuity in, and evolution of the economic history of the Turkish Republic, the students are expected to comprehend the main parameters of economic life in the context of urbanization with a global perspective. |

The analysis of the economic history of the Turkish Republic from socio-cultural and socio-economic perspectives. The study of socio-economic structure of Turkey in the context of change and continuity, human development index, imperialism, liberalism (neo-liberalism), corporatism, globalism and core-periphery relations. An evaluation of the economic and cultural factors that helped shape the demographic and urban structure of modern Turkey on the basis of main turning points of the 20th century. Projections and expectations concerning Turkish socioeconomic life. |
