The aim of the course:
The overarching goal of the course is to enable the students to develop competing convictions; in theoretical terms, the course will facilitate a thorough understanding of linkages methodology and praxis. The course aims to provide the students with planning thought and theories from early post war theory to planning theory to 1990s such as town planning as physical planning and design to system planning, rational comprehensive planning, paradigm shifts, modernism and post modernism etc.

Contents of the Course
The course will address on theory in planning, planning in theory; rational comprehensive planning, system planning, advocative planning and pluralism, pragmatism, modernism and post modernism in planning, sustainability; planning process; plan evaluation techniques.
