The aim of the course:
to provide the students with a general knowledge on historical development of art and architecture and to research of couses of information according to the historical periods.

Upon successful completion of the course, the students will be able to :
LO - 1 : summarise the general art and architectural characteristics of various historical periods.3,5,6,101,
LO - 2 : The types of structures tried in the formation phase of European and Anatolian architecture and their development in terms of plan typology can be seen.3,5,6,101,
LO - 3 : define the general art and architectural characteristics of 16th Century and especialy Mimar Sinan's works in Ottoman architectural period.3,5,6,101,
CTPO : Contribution to programme outcomes, TOA :Type of assessment (1: written exam, 2: Oral exam, 3: Homework assignment, 4: Laboratory exercise/exam, 5: Seminar / presentation, 6: Term paper), LO : Learning Outcome

 
Contents of the Course
Art and Architecture of pre-historic period, Mesopotamia architecture, Egypt architecture, Greek architecture, Roma architecture, Byzantine architecture, Gothic Architecture, Renaissance architecture, Barok architecture, Seljuk and Ottoman architectural periods in Anatolia.
