The aim of the course:
are to provide the ability needed for machine design, forming important machine elements constitute the machines, teaching the strength of machine elements and their functions. One project related to these subjects is given through this course.

Learning OutcomesCTPOTOA
Upon successful completion of the course, the students will be able to :
LO - 1 : choose material based on the mechanical properties1,2,31,3
LO - 2 : determine the stresses originated from forces coming from machine elements and in connection with these stresses and by means of cracking theory, making a decision about the machine elements to be reliable or not. 1,2,31,3
LO - 3 : form the shafts1,2,31,3
LO - 4 : form the joints of keys, etc.1,2,31,3
LO - 5 : form the pins, pressing, etc.1,2,31,3
LO - 6 : design screw joints under various loads1,2,31,3
LO - 7 : form and design the welding, bonding and rivets1,2,31,3
LO - 8 : calculate elastic behavior of material, design procedure of springs1,2,31,3
CTPO : Contribution to programme outcomes, TOA :Type of assessment (1: written exam, 2: Oral exam, 3: Homework assignment, 4: Laboratory exercise/exam, 5: Seminar / presentation, 6: Term paper), LO : Learning Outcome
