To gain appropriate methods, knowledge and skills of technical drawing used in Interior Design studios

Upon successful completion of the course, the students will be able to :

Contents of the Course
Application of orthographic narration of complex interior fittings. Drawing architectural structure and elements such as door, window and stair in 1/100, 1/50 and 1/20 scale. Technical narration of any place with 1/50 plans and sections. Technical narration of a residential project from whole to part with different scale and techniques. Dimensioning principles of interior architecture projects principles and application of them to previous projects. Lecturing ?the staircase? as a space component and vertical circulation component. Drawing application of diverse type of staircase in different scales.

 Week 1Orthographic drawing exercise in expression of furniture. Practice: Kitchen cabinets and countertops plan, section and elevation drawing. (SAMET)
 Week 2Orthographic drawing exercise in expression of furniture. Practice: TV unit plan, section and elevation drawing (Dimensioning of a TV unit model made by students)
 Week 3Expression of Space Components: Orthographic drawing of doors and windows scale 1/100, 1/50, 1/20 (Over existing classroom)
 Week 4Drawing of doors and windows associated with different combinations on a selected scale. Homework: Model of a space with any function, scale 1/50.
 Week 5Plan expression of a space in a scale 1/50.
 Week 6Plan expression of the same space in 1/50 scale. Homework: Second section from a different direction.
 Week 7Plan and section drawings of a residence in 1/100 scale. Homework: drawing of the same residence in 1/50 scale.
 Week 8Control and revision of assignments.
 Week 9Mid-term exam
 Week 10Drawing a part of the same residence in 1/20 scale. Homework: Drawing an another part of the same residence in 1/20 scale.
 Week 11Technical dimensioning rules. Practice: Dimensioning the plan and the section drawings of the residence which drawn before (1/50). Homework: Dimensioning a given plan and section (1/20).
 Week 12Drawing of stairs which is a space component and the vertical circulation element. Homework: Making a model of any stairs.
 Week 13Drawing of stairs plan and sections in 1/50 and 1/20 scales. Homework: Making a model of half turn stairs.
 Week 14Drawing plan and sections of a half turn stairs in 1/20 scale. Homework: Making a model of existing spiral stairs.
 Week 15Drawing plan and sections of spiral stairs in 1/20 scale.
 Week 16Final exam
