The aim of the course:
In this course ecological data bases will be explained in order to provide a better understanding of the operation of diffferent ecosystems (urban green network system, road corridors, streams, agriculture/forest, built environment, etc.) from the nature to the human being in order to ensure the sustainability of the cities. Ecological approach priciples in urban planning and design will be taught how these ecological data will be reflected in design decisions. Urban design studies will highlight the importance of integrating the "Landscape Character Assessment" approach and tools into the design process which takes care of the natural and cultural life comfort for the city's inhabitats. In this context, it is aimed to inform the students about the process of considering the green infrastructure plan and the related nature-based design solutions.

Learning OutcomesCTPOTOA
Upon successful completion of the course, the students will be able to :
LO - 1 : They will learn about the urban ecosystem on the basis of urban built environments.6,71,2,3,4,5,6,

Contents of the Course
Cities are ecosystems that contain natural structures and systems, as well as the interaction of cultural and natural structures, as well as being the areas where human activities are concentrated for this reason urban planning and design practies that are dealt with by ecosystem perception are needed in cities to sustain ecosystem functions in a balanced and healthy way, The content of the course will be given under the following headings in order to achieve this, The course content is as follews; *Urban Built Environment (building and plot)/ Urban Ecosystem on Open Space Organization *Urban climate, Climate Action Plans and Climate Strategy *The Process of Addressing Urban Rights on the Intemational Level *Urban Pollution and Urban Pollution Maps *Urban Green Network and Urban Ecological Database *Urban freen network systems (green belt, green road, urban forest, urban agriculture gardens, city walks, ecological wildlife corridor naturalized river corridors, etc.) *Ecological Approaches in Urban Planning and Design *Ecological Renovation Studies in the Naturalization of the City Practical studies will be carried out in the light of the above-mentioned theoretical foundations.
