Introduction. Pyhsical properties of soil and rocks. Sampling and sample sample preparation for geotechnical tests, determination of physical properties of soil and rocks (water content, unit weight, porosity, hardness, etc.). Unconfined strength of rock materials, slake durability index, point load index, indirect tensile strenght (brazillian test), determination of granulometry of soils (dry sieve analysis), determination of plasticity properties of soils (liquidity and plasticticy test), compresibility of soils (Standard and modified proctor tests). |
