The aim of the course:
Introduce the basic mechanical principles in structural geology, like stress, strain. Recognize and describe the different geological structures (joints, faults, folds, foliation, etc.). Teach the mechanism of the formation of different structures.

Learning OutcomesCTPOTOA
Upon successful completion of the course, the students will be able to :
LO - 1 : learn basic principles and methods of structural geology.1,2,41,
LO - 2 : recognize various structures in different deformation regimes.1,2,41,
LO - 3 : know how to document structural data in a scientific written report1,2,41,
CTPO : Contribution to programme outcomes, TOA :Type of assessment (1: written exam, 2: Oral exam, 3: Homework assignment, 4: Laboratory exercise/exam, 5: Seminar / presentation, 6: Term paper), LO : Learning Outcome
