The aim of the course:
To comprehend dental adhesion, To teach dental composite materials and finishing and polishing of composite materials, To comprehend saliva, content and functions, flow rate and buffer systems, To teach the concepts of demineralization and remineralization, To comprehend caries diagnosis methods and caries removal methods, To be informed about dental anomalies and developmental disorders of teeth, To teach non-carious lesions and dental in detail, To comprehend the treatment of vital pulp To be informed about inlay, onlay, ovarlay, pin restorations and laminate restorations and to teach intra-oral applications
 
Learning OutcomesCTPOTOA
Upon successful completion of the course, the students will be able to :
LO - 1 : will be able to define dental caries and classify the types of caries and know the factors that have roles on caries formation and microbiology of dental caries 11,23
LO - 2 : will be able to know the content of saliva and the functions of saliva and the effects of saliva on oral health 11,23,24
LO - 3 : will be able to know the components and pathology and microbiology of dental plaque 11,23,24
LO - 4 : will be able to do dental caries diagnosis and be able to plan the treatment 11
LO - 5 : will be able to know the characteristics of enamelon, dentin and root caries and be able to diagnosis of that caries types and plan the treatment11,23
LO - 6 : will be able to know the finishing and polishing procedures of dental restorations and the importance of that procedures and the materials and tools for that procedures 11
LO - 7 : will be able to know how to achieve the restorations with dentin pins and will be able to know metal, composite, ceramic inlays and onlays and laminate restorations and the indications, contrindications and importance of these conservative restorations 11
LO - 8 : will be able to know the failure reasons and will be able to know what to do for making minumum mistakes and maximize the rate of success of restorations 11
