The aim of the course:
Designing ventilation systems for underground mines

Contents of the Course
Aim and scope of mine ventilation, primary and auxiliary ventilation, energy changes in fluid flow, head losses and mine head, head pattern, air flow through mine openings and ducts, primary ventilation networks, series and parallel circuits, characteristics curves of series and parallel circuits, determination of equivalent resistances for series and parallel circuits, analysis of air splitting in simple networks, controlled air splitting, selection and design of regulator, analysis of controlled air splitting, analysis of complex networks, natural ventilation, characteristics curves of natural ventilation, determination of air created by natural ventilation, calculation of heads created by natural ventilation, mechanical ventilation, fan laws, application of fans to mines, fan performances, multiple fan systems, effect of natural ventilation on fan performance, determination of air required for mine.
