The aim of the course:
The aim of the course is to teach students for diesel engines, the parts of engines, the structure of parts and their ranks, combustion in diesel engine, Characteristics of fuels used in ships

Contents of the Course
Diesel Engines and Engine cycles, Two Stroke and Four Stroke Engines, P-V diagram, Timing Diagram, Scavenging air systems and Turbocharger, Low, Medium and High Speed engines, The structure of Trank pistons and crosshead engines, valve movement mechanism, Bearings, Fuel İnjection System, Governor, Combustion and Combustion Chamber, Fuels, Lubricating Oil and testing, The calculation of engine power and taking data.
