The aim of the course:
To learn the parts and functions of the cellular elements in the nervous system, to learn the action potential, synaptic transmission, and maintenance of nerve functions.

Programme OutcomesCTPOTOA
Upon successful completion of the course, the students will be able to :
PO - 1 : Count the parts of a neuron, glia cells, and their functions
PO - 2 : Explain the mechanism of the resting membrane potential
PO - 3 : Describe the ion channel changes underlying action potential initiation, termination, and propagation
PO - 4 : Can explain presynaptic, and postsynaptic events in synaptic transmission
CTPO : Contribution to programme outcomes, TOA :Type of assessment (1: written exam, 2: Oral exam, 3: Homework assignment, 4: Laboratory exercise/exam, 5: Seminar / presentation, 6: Term paper), PO : Learning Outcome
