The aim of the course:
To learn hydroelectric power plants and its elements. To model the hydraulic flow problems and gain design skill of hydroelectric power plants.

Upon successful completion of the course, the students will be able to :

Contents of the Course
Introduction to hydroelectric power plants. Hydroelectric plant types. Various elements of hydroelectric plants. Hydroelectric energy and other energy resources. Energy cost. General theory of turbomachines. Hydrodynamic similarity. Introduction to FLUENT commerical package. Modelling of hydraulic flow problems with FLUENT. Water wheel. Penstock loses.
