The aim of the course:
to introduce the equipments that have been used for production and processing of natural stones in both quarry and plants as a final product. Additionally, the course aims at giving knowledge on parameters affecting the performance of equipments

Upon successful completion of the course, the students will be able to :
PO - 1 : know the equipments used for production of natural stones in quarry 2,43,5
PO - 2 : know the equipments used for processing of natural stones in plants as final product 2,43,5
PO - 3 : learn the parameters affecting the performance equipments used for both production and processing of natural stones in both quarry and plants as a final product 2,43,5
PO - 4 : select suitable equipments based on the natural stone types in quarry and plants 2,43,5

Contents of the Course
Production areas of natural building stone in Turkey, Factors being effective in natural stone mining, Usage areas of natural building stones and their classification according to usage aims, Materials and mass characteristics being effective during production, processing and usage of natural building stones, Equipments used for production of natural stones in quarry: wire-saws, chain-saws, special production techniques and equipments, Equipments used for processing of natural stones in plant as final product: plate cutting equipments from blocks, tile-and plate-line machines, refining systems and machines, special processing machines: sealant-aging, Transportation and package systems.
