The aim of the course:
To provide detailed knowledge about genome and operon structures and mechanisms of operation in bacteria. To provide information about transcriptional regulation mechanisms and transposons in prokaryotes. To have knowledge about mutations in prokayotic organisms and to distinguish mutation types. To distinguish between transformation, conjugation and transduction mechanisms and factors. In addition, to ensure that pupils are aware of experimental animals and genetic screening methods used to investigate eukaryotic phenotypes. To emphasize that basic genetic concepts such as replication, transcription and translation are more complex in eukaryotes. To enable students to use experimental approaches related to replication, transcription and translation for research purposes.
