The aim of the course:
The main purpose of this course is to give the student the basic concepts and principles of physics related to mechanics and electromagnetism with a clear presentation.
 
Learning OutcomesCTPOTOA
Upon successful completion of the course, the students will be able to :
LO - 1 : will be able to apply scalar and vector concepts to problem solving1,2,6,12
LO - 2 : will be able to solve problems dealing with force and motion, conduct experiments on smooth linear motion, free fall and oblique throw motion and interpret the results.1,2,6,12
LO - 3 : will be able to solve problems involving the concepts of energy, work and power, will be able to perform experiments on Newton's laws, motion on frictional surfaces and the coefficient of friction of surfaces and interpret the results.1,2,6,12
LO - 4 : in circular orbit; will be able to solve problems involving time, displacement, velocity and acceleration1,2,6,12
LO - 5 : interpret electric fields and apply gauss's law to different problems1,2,6,12
LO - 6 : can discuss electrical potential1,2,6,12
LO - 7 : interpret the capacitance and dielectrics1,2,6,12
LO - 8 : interpret current, resistance and direct current circuits.1,2,6,12

Introduction (Units, Physical quantities and vectors), Mechanics, Fluid mechanics, Mechanical waves, Thermodynamics, Electromagnetism, Optics, Modern physics.
