The aim of the course:
Introduction to physical properties of wood, standard methods for determining of wood properties, determining the using places for wood according to physical properties.

Contents of the Course
Density and specific gravity. Moisture content-density relations. Wood-water relations. Moisture content and determination of moisture content. Sorption and equilibrium moisture content. Fiber saturation point. Thermodynamics of sorption, shrinkage and swelling. Capillary movement and diffusion in wood. Thermal properties of wood. Specific heat of wood. Thermal conductivity of wood. Heat radiation in wood. Electrical properties of wood. Sound transmission and acoustical properties of wood.
