The aim of the course:
This course aims to equip graduate students with the modeling of forest management planning strategies using vairous modeling techniques

Upon successful completion of the course, the students will be able to :
PO - 1 : Formulate a model of large scale forest management problem with a simulation and an optimization (Linear programming, goal programming) techniques13,4
PO - 2 : Run models and compare the performance of each modeling techniques with a number of outputs (performance indicators such as AAC, Area harvested, planted, treated)1,4,73,4
PO - 3 : Generate information for decision making on the causes of conservation versus production oriented management strategies1,6,75,6
PO - 4 : Prepare a case study report and prepare a management plan6,75,6

Genel anlamda sürdürülebilirlik kavramı, orman amenajmanındaki yeri ve önemi, sürdürülebilir orman amenajmanı gösterge ve ölçütleri, klasik ve çok amaçlı planlamaya göre karşılaştırılması, Türkiye ormancılığı için uygulanabilirliği, karma optimizasyon teknikler, ormancılıkta sertifikalandırma, Ekosistem amenajmanı ilişkisi
